| Victoria Ridyard
Victoria joined Theatre Guild in 1995 as a dancer in Oklahoma!. Following a break to travel the world she returned in 2000 to join the cast of Anything Goes. She has since played the part of Glinda / Aunt Em in The Wizard of Oz. Suzanne (a fandango ballroom dancer) in Sweet Charity. In 2004 she took the role of principal singer Kate in our production of Oklahoma!
Victoria's first EVER performance was in a dance display at the tender age of 6 - an outstanding tap performance of "Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho" from Snow White and the Seven Dwarves complete with red leotard, red and white spotty skirt and a spotty hat! What, no leg warmers? In fact she started dancing lessons at just 5 years old and trained in Tap and Modern. Victoria also plays the flute and a little piano. At school she sang regularly in Burns Competitions and won choral and duet classes on several occasions.
Prior to joining Theatre Guild Victoria danced in Viva Mexico and My Fair Lady for Eastbank Acadamy. In addition to all this she danced with the Lyric Club in their centenary production of Singin' In The Rain.
She tells us that one of her funniest moment on stage was during a production of My Fair Lady. She danced off stage dressed as a Pearly Queen but one of her buttons caught on a brazier in the corner. She danced off with the brazier in tow and nearly took the Musical Director out in the process!
When not on stage, Victoria works as a planner for a renewable energy company 'almost all of the time'. Victoria is married to our talented Stage Manager / Artistic Director, Mark. (Victoria claims she has no secrets - which is a shame because "Victoria's Secret" has a certain ring to it! Anyway, this may be related to her tendency to tell the truth following a couple of glasses of wine?)
